It all started on June 7th, 2019—a night that almost didn’t happen, but clearly was meant to.

Corrina was invited to an after party at a recording studio. That same night, David—ready to finally pursue his passion for music—was invited by a friend to that exact same studio, The Vibe Lab in Rancho Cucamonga.

At just 22 and 23, neither of them had any idea that one unexpected night would turn into forever.

From David’s perspective, the night didn’t start the way he expected. He had gone to help his friend set up DJ equipment, curious to see what a real recording studio was like, but quickly found himself feeling out of place in a room full of people, noise, and energy.

And then… she walked in.

From across the room, he noticed her immediately—completely taken back by how beautiful she was. For a moment, it felt like lightning. And then just as quickly, she was gone—disappearing into another part of the studio. He assumed the moment had passed.

But somehow, it hadn’t.

Shortly after, she walked back in and they were finally introduced. Corrina noticed something immediately—his smile, warm and genuine, and the way he looked directly into her eyes. The person introducing them didn’t actually know David’s name and awkwardly referred to him as “this guy.”

But they both barely noticed.

They stood there, hands still clasped, holding eye contact for what felt like forever.

Until her friend broke the moment—

“So… does this guy have a name?”

David, without missing a beat, joked,

“Yeah… that’s my name. ‘This guy.’”

Corrina laughed, shook her head, and playfully gestured toward him,

“Okay… this guy.”

And yet… she still didn’t get his actual name.

As the night went on, they drifted in and out of each other’s orbit—drawn to one another, playing a subtle game of glances across a room full of people, always just missing the right moment to connect.

At one point, Corrina sat down—only to accidentally knock over a row of guitars behind her. In that moment, she was completely mortified, convinced she had just embarrassed herself in front of David. But when she looked over and saw him trying not to laugh, the moment softened.

To him, it was effortless and genuine—something he found undeniably endearing. It was the moment he thought:

She’s cute… I need to talk to her.

From there, the night turned into a series of almost-moments.

Corrina stepped out to find a restroom down the hallway, hoping he might follow—and he did, timing it just right to catch her on the way back. They smiled, started to walk toward one another… and once again, they were interrupted by a stranger.

The moment slipped away…

It felt like that all night. Close… but not quite.

After a long night, Corrina sat on the couch, ready to leave—assuming whatever this was had simply passed.

But David saw her sitting there and made a decision.

It’s now or never.

So he walked over and sat beside her.

Breaking the ice, he complimented her shoes.

She smiled and said, “Thank you, I just bought them.”

Trying to make her laugh, he quickly replied,

“Really? I almost wore the same ones.”

It wasn’t just the joke—it was his quick, witty responses that caught Corrina’s attention and made her want to keep talking to him.

And it worked.

They laughed. They talked. And just like that, everything finally aligned.

As the night was coming to an end, David knew he didn’t want that moment to be the last. So he asked for her number.

And finally, Corrina asked the question she had somehow missed all night—

“What’s your real name?”

This time, he smiled and properly introduced himself.

David.

From that moment on, they were inseparable.

What started as a chance meeting quickly grew into something much deeper.

Through the years, they became each other’s biggest supporters—Corrina encouraging David as he pursued his passion for music and launched his podcast, and David standing by Corrina as she stepped into a new career and faced personal and medical challenges with strength and resilience.

Like any couple, they faced challenges—but through it all, their love only grew stronger. They learned, they grew, and they continued choosing each other every single day.

Looking back, we can see God’s hand in every step that led us to each other.
